Dmitri has more than ten years of investment management experience. Prior to Qtron Investments, Dmitri was a Director and member of the firm’s Operating Committee at PanAgora Asset Management. While at PanAgora, he oversaw Dynamic Equity strategies with over $20B.
During his tenure, Global Equity strategies have been recognized by prestigious industry awards: Best Long-Term Manager by Korea Investment Corporation and Best Global Equity Manager by the Asian Investor Magazine.
Prior to PanAgora, Dr. Kantsyrev pursued an academic career. As a lecturer at the USC Marshall School of Business and Pepperdine University he taught financial analysis, corporate finance, statistics, and economics courses. Before his switch to finance, Dmitri was a research scientist at the University of Michigan Spin Physics Center where he investigated how to accelerate and store high energy polarized proton beams.
Dr. Kantsyrev holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southern California and M.S. degrees in Mathematical Finance and Physics. He is a CFA charter holder, has been published in the Journal of Portfolio Management, and has presented at conferences and seminars.
Ronald has twenty years of investment management experience. Prior to Qtron Investments, Ronald was a partner at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and served as a Chief Investment Officer in the Quantitative Investment Strategies Group from 2011 to 2016. While at GSAM, he oversaw active quantitative equity strategies and GSAM Insights Funds totaling $25B. During his tenure, Morningstar raised a number of Insight Funds to four or five stars and the International Small-cap Insight Fund won Lipper Investor Award in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Before GSAM, Ronald was the Chief Investment Officer of Equities at PanAgora Asset Management and oversaw Dynamic Equity products with Dr. Kantsyrev. Prior to PanAgora, Mr. Hua was a portfolio manager at Putnam Investments for five years managing international and US small-cap funds. Before that, he was a quantitative research analyst at Fidelity Management and Research Company.
Mr. Hua holds an MBA and an M.S. in Computer Science from New York University. He is a CFA charter holder. Ronald is on the editorial board of the Journal of Portfolio Management. He wrote many academic papers and coauthored the graduate-level book “Quantitative Equity Portfolio Management: Modern Techniques and Applications.”
Professor Fernando Zapatero serves as an academic advisor to Qtron. He has a distinguished carrier in finance and brings extensive knowledge of financial theory and its applications. He works closely with other researchers at Qtron to discuss investment ideas, review empirical findings, and steer Qtron’s research agenda.
Dr. Zapatero is the Richard D. Cohen Professor in Management and Chair of the Finance Department at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. Prior to that, Dr. Zapatero was a Professor and Chair of the Finance and Business Economics Department at the USC Marshall School of Business.
Dr. Zapatero holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Columbia University and has more than thirty published papers. He has presented at multiple conferences, has taught different courses in finance and economics, and authored or co-authored several books, including “Introduction to the Economics and Mathematics of Financial Markets”. Dr. Zapatero is the founding editor of the Quarterly Journal of Finance and serves or has served as an associate editor for Annals of Finance, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Mathematical Finance, and Mathematics and Financial Economics.
